The First

These are words to live by in the kitchen, in life really.  At 25 years old, I can now clearly see that my passion is right in front of my face.  I have tried running from it, I have tried denying it, I have even tried thinking it was just a phase.  I mean with all of the foodies, culinarians, and just food lovers alike, I thought that I should just stay away from cooking for fun.  But something about the time spent creating a dish, trying out a new recipe and sometimes failing, the kitchen is the one place where I can be free.  Free to express myself, my thoughts, I can even pound out a piece of dough if I have had a rough day at work.  Something about the experience in the kitchen brings me peace.  I have realized then that food is my passion, and that cooking is my gift, even if in earlier years I thought otherwise. After many years, and not-so-subtle sugguestions from friends and family, I have finally come to accept that cooking in the kitchen will always be apart of my life.

I have decided to document, as best as I could, my adventures in the kitchen, because #kitchenislife and I figured what the heck. So here it is, a somewhat in-depth and personal experience in my head.  I want to share my stories with others and figure why not tell it through the food I make.
